Terms & Conditions
Terms and Conditions
Our Terms and Conditions were last updated on July 10, 2026.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Interpreter Academy website, memberships, or services.
By accessing or using our Site or Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, our Refund and Cancellation Policy, and any additional terms that may apply to specific services offered by Interpreter Academy.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Interpreter Academy website, digital memberships, training content, downloadable materials, and related services.
In these Terms, “Interpreter Academy,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Interpreter Academy. “Site” refers to our website, and “Service” refers to our memberships, digital content, training materials, downloadable resources, and related services. “You” and “User” refer to any person who accesses or uses the Site or Service.
If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you should not access or use the Site or Service.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a membership or create an account for the Service.
Our services are intended for adults seeking to develop or improve their interpreting skills, prepare for certification, or advance their professional development.
If we become aware that an account holder does not meet this age requirement, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the account, subject to applicable law and record-keeping requirements.
3. Memberships and Automatic Renewal
Interpreter Academy offers digital memberships that may include access to interpreting practice scenarios, progressive difficulty levels, downloadable materials, and other features made available through the Service.
We may offer different membership plans, including monthly and multi-month options. The price, billing period, and included features will be displayed at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, memberships automatically renew at the end of each applicable billing period until cancelled. Monthly memberships renew each month, and three-month memberships renew every three months.
By purchasing a recurring membership, you authorize the applicable payment provider to automatically charge your selected payment method at the beginning of each new billing period without requiring additional approval for each renewal.
4. Pricing and Payment
Prices are displayed in Canadian dollars (CAD), unless otherwise stated. As Interpreter Academy provides digital memberships and services, no shipping charges apply.
Payment is due at the time of purchase. For recurring memberships, payments are charged according to the billing cycle selected at checkout.
You represent that you have the legal right to use the payment method provided and that the information you submit is true, accurate, current, and complete.
Payment methods may be subject to validation and authorization by the applicable card issuer or payment provider. If a payment cannot be processed, we may decline the transaction or suspend or restrict access to the applicable membership or Service.
Interpreter Academy may change membership prices from time to time. Any price change affecting an existing recurring membership will be handled in accordance with applicable law. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel your membership before the new price takes effect.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your membership at any time. Cancellation prevents future renewal charges but does not immediately end your access to the Service. You will continue to have access until the end of your current paid billing period.
To avoid being charged for the next billing period, you must cancel before your next scheduled renewal date.
Refunds, duplicate or incorrect charges, technical issues, and exceptional circumstances are governed by our separate Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable consumer protection laws.
6. Digital Access and Account Security
Interpreter Academy provides memberships, content, and services electronically. No physical products are shipped or delivered.
After successful purchase and payment authorization, access to the applicable membership and digital content will be provided through the Service. You are responsible for providing accurate account information and maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
Membership access is intended solely for the individual who purchased the membership. Accounts, login credentials, and members-only content may not be shared, transferred, resold, or made available to another person unless expressly authorized by Interpreter Academy.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where unauthorized account sharing, fraudulent activity, misuse, or violation of these Terms is detected.
7. Intellectual Property and Personal Use
Unless otherwise stated, all content available through the Site or Service, including videos, audio, practice scenarios, scripts, exercises, text, graphics, logos, branding, designs, and downloadable materials, is owned by or licensed to Interpreter Academy and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Your membership gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to access and use the Service for your own educational and professional-development purposes.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, transmit, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly display, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from our content except where expressly authorized in writing by Interpreter Academy or permitted by applicable law.
Downloadable materials are provided for personal use only and may not be shared, redistributed, resold, published, or made available to others.
8. Educational Purpose and No Guarantee of Results
Interpreter Academy provides educational and professional-development content. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in certification, employment, professional licensing, passing an examination, increased income, or any other specific outcome.
Results vary based on factors such as individual effort, experience, practice, language ability, professional requirements, and circumstances outside our control.
You are responsible for determining the requirements of any certification body, employer, regulator, professional association, or other organization relevant to your individual goals.
9. Content Changes and Service Availability
Interpreter Academy may update, modify, add, replace, or remove content, features, scenarios, downloadable materials, or other aspects of the Service as the Service evolves. Specific content and features may change over time, and no particular scenario, resource, or feature is guaranteed to remain available indefinitely, subject to applicable law.
We aim to keep the Site and Service available and functioning properly but do not guarantee uninterrupted, continuous, secure, or error-free access.
The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical issues, third-party service interruptions, internet connectivity problems, security concerns, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
10. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Site or Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized purpose.
You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to another User's account, restricted areas, servers, systems, or networks connected to the Service; interfere with the operation or security of the Service; introduce malicious code; circumvent access controls; systematically extract protected content without authorization; or infringe the intellectual property or other rights of Interpreter Academy or any third party.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and Service are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Interpreter Academy does not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for every User's particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Interpreter Academy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Site or Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, condition, right, remedy, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Site or Service if we reasonably believe that a User has violated these Terms, engaged in fraud or misuse, shared account access without authorization, infringed intellectual property rights, threatened the security or operation of the Service, or failed to make required payments.
Where reasonably appropriate, we may provide notice before suspension or termination. However, immediate action may be taken where necessary to protect the Service, other Users, Interpreter Academy, or third parties.
Termination does not eliminate obligations or liabilities that arose before termination. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law, will continue to apply.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to any mandatory rights available under applicable consumer protection laws, disputes arising from or relating to these Terms, the Site, or the Service will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14. Changes to These Terms and Contact Information
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms and Conditions from time to time. If a revision is material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice before the revised terms take effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our reasonable discretion.
By continuing to access or use the Site or Service after revised Terms become effective, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Site and Service and, if applicable, cancel your membership before your next renewal date.
